Prime Time last night reported on the disturbing accounts of the ongoing abuse of young girls in a specific foster family setting. What makes this case even more abhorrent is the fact the continuation of this abuse was openly facilitated by this State, by our State.
Then the trial inflicted further torture on these young girls compounded by the perpetrator getting a lenient sentence. Changes, so that sentences are proportionate to the crime, must be implemented.
These strong and courageous girls were failed by the State’s systems from beginning to end.
