The chronic underfunding of the third-level sector cannot be made up by students and families. Four out of five students are living with financial stress. We must address the causes – huge fees and accommodation non-refunds.
It’s unethical, and contrary to contract and consumer law, for postgraduate students to be refused even partial refunds for courses that bear no resemblance to the description in the prospectuses.
