Last night in the Seanad, Sinn Féin progressed a bill to remove the six year limit for those wanting to make complaints to the Financial Services Ombudsman. This bill will offer a real solution to those who were removed from tracker mortgages, mis-sold PPI or have other complaints against institutions who so far have been blocked from accessing the Ombudman’s services. This positive, solution-based piece of legislation needs to be passed into law as soon as possible and we in Sinn Féin will not relent until it has.
